Women's Jiu-jitsu Program
Welcome to the Women's Only Jiu-Jitsu Class at the Real Movement and Martial Arts Academy, where empowerment, self-defense, and camaraderie come together in a safe and supportive environment. Led by experienced blue belt instructors, Tayla Meredith and Amy Dexter, this class is designed specifically for women who want to explore the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) while building confidence, strength, and community.
Class Goals:
Empowerment: Our primary focus is to empower women through the practice of BJJ. You'll learn practical self-defense techniques that can help you feel more confident in various situations.
Skill Development: Regardless of your prior martial arts experience, our class welcomes beginners and experienced practitioners alike. We will cover fundamental techniques, positions, and strategies, gradually advancing your skills as you progress.
Fitness and Conditioning: BJJ is a full-body workout that enhances physical strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. Expect to improve your fitness level while having fun on the mats.
Community Building: This class offers a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded women who share a passion for martial arts and personal growth. Building a supportive community is essential for your success in BJJ.
Class Structure:
Warm-up and stretching exercises to prepare your body for training.
Instruction on fundamental BJJ techniques, including escapes, submissions, and positional control.
Drills and partner practice to reinforce your understanding of the techniques.
Cool-down and stretching to promote recovery and flexibility.
Who Should Attend:
This class is open to women of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you're a complete beginner or have prior martial arts experience, our instructors will tailor the instruction to meet your needs and goals. You don't need any previous experience in BJJ to get started.
What to Bring to your first class:
Comfortable workout attire (e.g., rash guard, gi, or athletic wear)
Water bottle
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
